Mai Yap is an award winning Chinese Panamanian artist and art instructor. She produces high quality innovative paintings that bring happiness and environmental awareness. From the beginning, the preservation of our planet has been her main inspiration. Color and movement mimic our planet’s cycles in all its wonderful glory. As if weaving a tapestry with paint, the images are built using a cornucopia of vibrant colors painstakingly applied, stroke-by-stroke, layer-by-layer, using only palette knives. She is the founder and director of Palette Knife Artists of Miami. MaiYap received her education from the University of Georgia, where she earned a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design. She teaches art at prestigious Fairchild Tropical Gardens. She has participated in more than a 100 art shows, art fairs and museum around the world.
Deborah Rubin is one of the foremost floral watercolor painters in the country. Born in Chicago in 1948, Rubin holds a BFA from the University of Illinois. Her flowers have formed the base of over 50 exhibitions, garnered over 20 awards, and have found their way into numerous permanent collections. Deborah’s paintings combine a spectacular large scale with brilliant light and meticulous detail. She has been pushing the boundaries of photo-realism and hyper-realism since the mid-1970s with an eye on nature and more recently, architecture. She currently lives in western Massachusetts, where she continues to produce her amazing pieces and teach other professional artists her techniques.
