United Way of Broward County hosted a private reception and advanced screening of the premiere episode of “The Hero Effect,” a new television docu-series, on November 9th at Savor Cinema as part of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. In attendance was Kathleen Cannon, President/CEO of United Way of Broward County; Stephen Moss, Founding Chair of MISSION UNITED and Partner at Holland & Knight; Leland Liebe, Senior Director for MISSION UNITED; and the film’s creator, Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Entertainment along with Broward County Veterans.

The first episode of “The Hero Effect“ spotlighted Stephen Moss, founding chair of MISSION UNITED and partner at Holland & Knight, as an ordinary individual who is making an extraordinary difference. Stephen and United Way of Broward County were one of 10 stories chosen among hundreds of submissions from United Ways across the country. The episode features Moss and his work with United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED and local Broward County veterans. Each episode of “The Hero Effect” presents audiences with real-life stories that exemplify United Way’s credo to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community.
