While vacationing at a small, retro hotel on the West Coast of Florida a few months prior to getting engaged, Jovan and Katie realized their shared connection and love for vintage inspired décor.  Once engaged, they knew the “typical” Miami wedding did not suit their creative personalities.  After unsuccessfully locating a South Florida based vintage prop rental company, they decided to take the reigns and begin their journey of collecting unique pieces to accent their wedding ceremony and reception.  Amidst planning their wedding, Jovan and Katie unknowingly began laying the groundwork to create their unique business venture.  “Picking” (as they call it) took every spare moment of free time to secure their fabulous finds.  After months of road trips and visiting local antique shops, thrift shops, garage sales, and estate sales, they successfully collected enough items to decorate and furnish the landscape for their blissful day.

 

“Throughout the entire process of collecting our favorite pieces, we thought about how much fun we had together and how close we had grown as partners. It only made sense to create a business out of our newfound passion for picking, while also filling a missing gap in the event rental market,” says Jovan and Katie Blineau.  It was at that turning point when the Unearthed Vintage concept was born and they set the goal of exposing their love for all things vintage to the masses.  From children’s tea parties to photo shoots, their vision was to facilitate the design spectrum from intimate gatherings to large soirees.

 

Unearthed Vintage has an extensive selection of one-of-a-kind pieces including eclectic mismatched china boasting floral patterns and gold trim, wine glasses, champagne flutes, mason jars, tinted glassware, flatware, tea cups and saucers, cake stands, and serving platters. The décor consists of cameras, glass containers and bottles, linens, suitcases, wooden crates, antlers, books, typewriters, frames, mirrors and more.  Additionally, their cherished collection includes dining chairs, customized farmhouse tables constructed with reclaimed barn wood; and upholstery pieces including “Geraldine,” a nicknamed teal velvet tufted sofa, as well as “Regina” and “Betty,” a set of goldenrod yellow tufted club chairs.  Unearthed Vintage adds new must-have’s to their inventory on a weekly basis.  Whether a client is seeking a custom-built ribbon chandelier, bar, cocktail tables or any other requested item, the dedicated couple is always up for a building challenge or “picking” search.

 

Unearthed Vintage’s entire collection is individually priced with no minimum orders, which allows clientele to pick and choose according to their budget.  Rental rates are affordably priced and vary according to category.  Unearthed Vintage caters to areas throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties, and provides delivery and set-up services.
