Synopsis:
Ricardo Tattarelli has been employed for 22 years at a public utility company on its way to being privatized. Encouraged by his boss and blinded by his ambition to join the nouveau riche, Tattarelli accepts voluntary early retirement. A large sum of retirement funds is “advanced” to him through bizarrely structured financial schemes created by the government and international banking systems. Ricardo fulfills his life dream of opening a neighborhood pizzeria, but the shaky foundation on which his new-found wealth is based finally catches up to him. One Peso, One Dollar is a comedy based on the events of 1990’s in which Menem´s government artificially set the peso to equal the U.S. dollar.
Ricardo Tattarelli lleva 22 años trabajando para E.N.E.M.A S.A., empresa estatal de energía en vías de privatización. Con el apoyo de su mujer, Ricardo toma el retiro. Su ambición se desenfrena y cegado por su ego, decide poner su propio negocio. En la pizzería “Gran Ricardo” se presentan distintos acontecimientos divertidos y un disparatado desfile de auténticos personajes de barrio, representados por un elenco notable. Un peso un dólar, es una postal argentina de los 90!
