Throughout the month of December, RA Sushi in South Miami, the stylish sushi restaurant and bar, is making the holidays merrier with a Toys for Tots drive, a seasonal cocktail and a “Naughty Holiday Party!”
If you haven’t done your good deed for the year or need to make up for being naughty, then this is your chance by helping a child in your community have a better holiday season. RA Sushi in South Miami is teaming up with the Toys for Tots Program and giving away one complimentary appetizer per party for those who donate a new and unwrapped toy (minimum donation value of $10.00) between Dec. 1 – Dec. 23. This special offer is available during lunch and dinner. With a good deed checked off the list, it’s time for a well-deserved cocktail!
An Asian twist to the champagne cocktail, Christmas in Tokyo ($8) is crisp and lightly sweet with refreshing flavors of exotic fruit and a hint of ginger. Make this drink at home for a festive party, or stop by any one of RA’s three South Florida locations for a break while holiday shopping.
Christmas in Tokyo Drink Recipe
In a martini shaker, with ice, combine:
1 oz. TYKU Soju
½ oz. Pama Pomegranate Liqueur
½ oz. Simple Syrup
¼ oz. ELIXIR G Ginger Puree
¼ oz. Soho Lychee Liqueur
Squeeze of lemon
In a glass, top mixture with Mionetto Prosecco Sparkling Wine
Garnish with a lemon twist
Toys for Tots and Christmas in Tokyo will also be highlights of RA Sushi in South Miami’s inaugural holiday party. On Saturday, Dec. 19, from 8 p.m. to midnight, RA Sushi invites fans to celebrate the holiday season with “RA’s Naughty Holiday Party.”
“RA’s Naughty Holiday Party” will definitely not be an ordinary holiday soirée. Instead of receiving dull personalized stockings and cups of eggnog, guests will have the opportunity to determine if they’ve been naughty or nice with the help of RA’s version of dirty ‘ol St. Nick, his sexy helpers and a trusty elf! Local favorite DJ Johnny The Boy will keep partygoers on the dance floor with current hits and traditional holiday music with a twist. Always in the spirit of giving, RA Sushi in South Miami is encouraging everyone to bring a “Naughty Holiday Party” flyer to the restaurant the night of the event. The flyer will act as a raffle ticket allowing guests to try their luck at winning great prizes like RA Sushi gift cards! Flyers will be available at the restaurant prior to the party and also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RAsushiSouthMiami. Winner must be present to collect prizes.
In true RA Sushi fashion, Head Sushi Chef Kenny Li and RA mixologists worked together to create a sampling of specialty rolls and cocktails for the naughty celebration. Holiday themed drink specials include Sake Jello Shots ($2), Chang Lager ($3), Chang Lager with Sake ($4) and Sit on My Lap Martini (a sweet holiday concoction of Godiva chocolate liqueur, Baileys Irish Cream, Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps and vanilla flavored vodka; $6). Food specials consist of the Crunchy Calamari Roll (tempura calamari, kani kama crab mix and cream cheese rolled and topped with spinach tempura bits; drizzled with a sweet eel sauce; $4), Crunchy Shrimp Tempura Roll (shrimp tempura, spicy kani kama crab mix and cucumber rolled and topped with red beet tempura bits; drizzled with sweet eel sauce; $4) and the Mistletoe Roll (kani kama crab mix, shrimp and cucumber rolled and topped with crunchy spinach and red beet tempura bits; drizzled with sweet eel sauce; $5).
