Tim Reynolds, of Dave Matthews Band, To Perform Free Show With TR3 at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek’s Nectar Lounge, March 11

Grammy nominated multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Tim Reynolds, of Dave Matthews Band, will perform FREE with his trio, TR3, at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in the Nectar lounge on Friday, March 11 at 9 p.m.  The TR3 featuring Tim Reynolds show is a mix of updated Reynolds classics, wild covers of everything from James Brown to Prince, andTR3’s ever-evolving catalogue of new material.

Reynolds founded the electric powered Tim Reynolds Trio (TR3) in the mid-1980s, and they quickly became known for their fusion of funk, rock and jazz.  He disbanded the group to pursue his solo acoustic career during the ‘90s and ‘2000s but reformed it in 2007 with bass player Mick Vaughn and drummer Dan Martier. Their first release, TR3 was issued in 1988, followed by Shifting Currents (1991), Light Up Ahead (1995), Comin’ After You (1995), their first studio CD, Radiance (2009) that was nominated for Home Grown Music Network’s Album of the Year, and most recently, Limbic System (2010).

In addition to guitar, Reynolds plays piano, sitar, drums, violin, bass, keyboards, ethnic percussive instruments, solo djembe, harp, uses drum machines for special effects, and sings, although his performances are primarily instrumental rock. He has an open taping policy at TR3 performances.

The lead guitarist and a founding member of Dave Matthews Band also tours with Matthews as an acoustic duo and as a member of Dave Matthews & Friends. His website (www.timreynolds.com) states that a live TR3 CD is planned for release during 2011.

Dave Matthews recently announced he will not tour in 2011 after 20 years of consecutive touring.

Reynolds received a 2011 Grammy nomination (Best Rock Instrumental Performance) for the song he wrote, Kundalinin Bonfire, and performed with Dave Matthews.
