The Stylistics are bringing their “Falling in Love With My Girl Tour” to the Adrienne Arsht Center. With the charisma, style and harmony of original members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, plus Jason Sharp, The Stylistics became one of the best-selling bands in Philadelphia, where they formed in 1968.
They will perform classics such as “Betcha by Golly Wow,” “I’m Stone in Love With You,” “You Make Me Feel Brand New,” “You Are Everything,” “Can’t Give You Anything but My Love” and much more.
Opening for The Stylistics is the world’s No. 1 Elton John tribute band. Tom Cridland, known as Sir Eltom John, is playing the part of Elton John on lead vocals and piano. He is close friends with Elton John drummer Nigel Olsson and has recorded songs with Elton John guitarist Davey Johnstone. The spectacular opening act includes “Bennie and the Jets,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man” and other hits.
Over the years, The Stylistics have accumulated seven gold albums, five gold singles, two double-gold singles, eight platinum albums, one double-platinum album, four platinum singles, a Grammy nomination in 1974 for “You Make Me Feel Brand New” and a plaque on the Walk of Fame in CenterCity, Philadelphia. In May 2004, they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
