THE SALVATION ARMY OF BROWARD COUNTY’S COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS BREAKFAST AND RUNWAY SHOW

Local political, business, community and sports leaders will show-off their passion for fashion and philanthropy during The Salvation Army of Broward County’s seventh annual Community Ambassadors Breakfast “friend”raiser and runway show on Friday, November 8, at 7:30 a.m. at the nonprofit organization’s headquarters at 100 SW 9th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. This year’s “models” sporting fashionable finds from The Salvation Army of Broward Thrift Stores include City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Ben Sorensenhis wife Anna, and their two childrenArtist George Gadson, Traci Millersenior vice president of business development for Miller Construction and Valerie Vegliote, community volunteer and beauty consultant. The Florida Panthers will also be honored with this year’s Ginny Miller Community Ambassador Award for their immeasurable support of The Salvation Army’s disaster assistance and holiday programs.

 

“This enjoyable annual breakfast recognizes those who have selflessly given of their time and we are thrilled to honor role models The Florida Panthers with the 2019 Ginny Miller Community Ambassador Award for their unwavering support,” said Major Stephen Long, area commander for The Salvation Army of Broward County. “Being a volunteer ambassador for The Salvation Army is a commitment to compassion – the heart and soul of our community. We invite Broward residents to join us at our public recognition “friend”raiser and learn about how they, too, can become involved in helping those who are most in need.”

 

The Salvation Army of Broward County’s Community Ambassadors serve as advocates for the charitable organization.  Ambassadors are the first to know about disaster recovery efforts and how to assist vulnerable populations within Broward County and beyond. There are no required membership fees, meetings or committees. Volunteer applicants need only have a willingness to help impact the lives of disadvantaged families and a dedication to making Broward County the best place to live for our citizens.
