OHWOW has partnered with The Standard Spa, Miami Beach to create a new retail store that will carry a selection of curated products including exclusively published art books and select art in addition to accessories, jewelry, beachwear, gifts and hotel guest essentials.
OHWOW and The Standard Hotels have cultivated a community of artists who design custom products in addition to exhibiting work; these artists include Tim Barber, Scott Campbell, Julia Chiang, Dan Colen, Luis Gispert, KAWS, Terence Koh, Andrew Kuo, Ari Marcopolous, Jose Parla, Agathe Snow and Julia Ziegler-Haynes amongst others.
The STND/OHWOW space is designed by acclaimed architect Rafael de Cárdenas. True to his signature approach of incorporating unusual materials and highly graphic touches in his retail projects, de Cárdenas has created a space that is unmistakably OHWOW and yet complements the holistic and relaxed atmosphere of The Standard Spa. A restrained palette of glossy white and hits of turquoise permeate throughout the space, with recessed pyramidal wedges and glass-top triangular black columns that serve as impactful pedestals for editions and merchandise.
The STND/OHWOW shop will open during Art Basel Miami Beach on December 1st with a series of book signings and events that will continue through 2011.
