THE PHILLIP AND PATRICIA FROST SCHOOL OF MUSIC PRESENTS WINTER WONDERFUL

The University of Miami Frost School of Music will present its holiday gala dinner, Winter Wonderful, on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel.  The festive candlelight dinner features holiday music performed by hundreds of talented student musicians from the Frost School of Music who are pursuing their dream of a life, and career, in music.  The goal of Winter Wonderful is to raise $100,000 for music scholarships at Frost.

Highlights of the evening will include a VIP cocktail reception, a sumptuous three-course holiday dinner and joyous musical performances by youthful voices of the Frost Chorale, Symphonic Choir, Cantilena Women’s Choir and Maelstrom Men’s Choir and instrumentalists in the Frost Holiday Orchestra, featuring holiday carols from around the globe. The music director is Karen Kennedy, program director for Choral Studies at the Frost School of Music. Individual tickets begin at $250 and tables of 10 range from $2,500 to $10,000 and up.

Dean Shelton G. Berg said, “The Frost School of Music’s Winter Wonderful! Holiday Dinner is simply the perfect start to the holiday season. It brings good cheer to new and long-time friends of the University of Miami and patrons of the arts in our community.  Best of all, the gala proceeds go directly to support music scholarships at the Frost School of Music, including our new Frost Music-Reach mentoring program that uplifts and encourages at-risk teens in our community all year long to succeed in school and in life.”

The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel is located at 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami. Festivities begin at 6:30 PM. For more information or to order tickets, visit www.winter-wonderful.com, call 305-284-6486 or email eventsmanagement@miami.edu.
