The Original Florida Follies Preview a Brand New Season of Shows to Benefit Children in South Florida

On Sunday, January 23, 2011 the Original Florida Follies hosted a sneak preview of its newest show, “Another Op’nin’ Another Show,” at the Omni Auditorium at Broward College in Coconut Creek.  The Follies, which are comprised of dancers between the ages of 60 and 90+, successfully raised over $100,000 to benefit children at-risk and in-need in South Florida last season. This year the Follies will host six performances in Broward and Palm Beach Counties as they continue to help organizations, such as Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC), the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers and the Bulldogs of Tamarac.  The Follies donated $20,000 to CDTC last year and have donated over $55,000 in the past three years.  Last year, the Follies also instituted a new initiative that invited 200 children in need for a special shopping day at JC Penney’s.

The new season officially opens on February 13, 2011 at Olympic Heights High School in Boca Raton. The show features pieces from “Mamma Mia,” “The Producers,” and a special tribute to Michael Jackson.  Tickets are $28 and may be purchased in advance.
