With more than a dozen plays closing the 2024 theatre season at New World School of the Arts, The One Festival is a collection of twenty-minute plays written, directed, and acted by NWSA college theatre seniors. In two programs over the course of one weekend, the themes of these plays are relevant, varied and personal, giving audiences insight into each artist’s conscience. From the esoteric to the spiritual, and from broken hearts to uncontrollable laughter, these performances offer an opportunity for actors-in-training to explore the human condition and present it in a personal manner that captures their own artistic voices and at times, reflect their values and moral outlook.
