The Marlins Community Foundation will donate $30,000 to Dillard Magnet High School and New World School of the Arts to compete in the 16th Annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition and Festival. During the three-day competition, held May 12-14 in New York, the young performers will participate in workshops and jam sessions, and meet jazz greats like Wynton Marsalis. The 13 other bands hail from across the nation.
