The Latin GRAMMY® Master Series: “Educación Financiera” took place in Miami with participation from Lena Burke, Bruno del Granado and Manu Manzo providing financial education for high school and college students

Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation®, in partnership with JPMorgan Chase, hosted its third Educación Financiera financial health education workshop as part of the Latin GRAMMY®Master Series. The event, hosted by Univision reporter and radio host Vicky Van at the FIU Graham Center in Miami, drew more than 400 students in person and virtual.

Latin GRAMMY® nominated singer-songwriter Manu Manzo, Latin GRAMMY® winner, pianist and singer-songwriter Lena Burke, and head of the global Latin music touring group at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) Bruno Del Granado kicked off the workshop, “Essentials of Building Credit in the Music Arts Industry”. JPMorgan Chase representatives, Jackie Gutierrez, and William Jaramillo discussed the importance of building credit to help jumpstart financial wellness. Together the special guests, along with the Foundation and JPMorgan Chase, shared the goal of amplifying the importance of financial education from access to money and credit management in building a career in Latin music and the arts.

Through live and virtual sessions, hundreds of high school and college students, including emerging musicians, gained access to money and credit management information and resources—along with expert advice from financial leaders, music executives and creators.

“Providing students with financial education knowledge is essential to help their professional success,” said Silvana Montenegro, Global Head of Advancing Hispanics & Latinos at JPMorgan Chase. “That’s why we are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Foundation to equip young talent with the information and tools they need to build a stronger economic future via the Latin GRAMMY Master Series.”

“Financial literacy is a universal language of empowerment, bridging the gap between dreams and reality in every discipline, including music,” said Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, Executive Director of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. “Our partnership with JPMorgan Chase is a testament to our ongoing commitment to nurture the financial health of the next generation of Latin music creators, expand access and create meaningful connection opportunities for them.”

Throughout the year, the Foundation and JPMorgan Chase have hosted two additional workshops for students to learn more about financial health topics. The last session held at the end of August featured Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winning singer and producer, Tommy Torres as a special guest. Through this series with JPMorgan Chase, the Foundation continues to support students with the tools to improve their financial knowledge with confidence and establish financial wellness. This collaboration is part of the ongoing efforts led by JPMorgan Chaseto drive inclusive economic growth and close the racial wealth gap for Hispanic, Latino and unbanked and underbanked communities.
