Prof. Aviva Ben-Ur on “The Hispanic/Jewish Connection in the United States”

Aviva Ben-Ur is Associate Professor in the Department of Judaic. and Near Eastern Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is the author of Sephardic Jews in America: A Diasporic History (New York University Press). She teaches a variety of courses in Jewish history, including “American Jewish Diversity, Jewish Travelers: Exploration and Imagination, Medieval to Modem Times,“Jewish UtopiaiDystopia,and Jews in the Age of the Atlantic Slave Trade.” Her current book project focuses on Eurafricans in the former Dutch colony of Suriname in South America.
