Miami’s famed VIP gatekeeper Cedric Adegnika and Corsica-based business woman Barbara Zuccarelli plan to bring a new “before experience” to South Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood called THE FLAT.
Slated to open its doors in February 2013, the eclectic cocktail lounge will offer an expansive menu of innovative libations utilizing imported ingredients and unique preparations. To complement the drinks and atmosphere, a selection of small plates known as “verrines” will showcase artfully composed yet unpretentious culinary creations, making it the first to introduce this concept to South Florida.

- THE FLAT is located in Miami’s South of Fifth neighborhood at 500 South Point (formerly Cozy bar)
- WHEN:
- THE FLAT is set to open mid-February 2013 and overall plays on its European domestic reference/namesake – from the feel of the interior to the service to the hours.
- As any gracious hosts of their home would do, the owners of THE FLAT plan to keep the cocktail lounge open until the guests call it a night, whether it be midnight or 3 am. On the weekends, doors will be open until 5 am.
- WHAT:
- The eclectic cocktail lounge will utilize unique ingredients, preparations and combinations for its expansive 40+ drink list but will also serve 12 sweet and salty verrines or light bites for snacking as guests graze through the cocktail list.
- Everything from the food to the cocktails at THE FLAT is served in a glass and is inspired by worldly influences.

- The “before experience” cocktail lounge is set to be the ideal locale for meeting, socializing or “dropping by” “before dinner, before club, before bed.. before anything” as the cocktails and food will be approachable in price and the entire space will lend itself to creating that perfect transition experience no matter what time of the night.
