For the first time, The Black Hole Experience (BHX) will immerse festival-goers at the III Points Festival from October 18-19, 2024. The innovative installation, created by multidisciplinary artist Kelly Nunes and presented by Age of Union Alliance, invites attendees into a captivating environment designed to inspire environmental consciousness and individual spirituality.
Dax Dasilva, CEO of Lightspeed Commerce and founder of Age of Union, expressed excitement about bringing BHX to the festival’s vibrant setting. “Our goal is to inspire a deeper connection to the natural world and foster reflection on our role in protecting it,” he said.
Housed within a 53-foot expandable trailer, the BHX features a 1,000-square-foot interior with an LED tunnel leading to a black hole projection chamber, immersing visitors in celestial phenomena. Attendees can also explore two antichamber rooms that provide information about the experience and Age of Union.
As part of its debut, BHX will showcase an exclusive track titled “Ligo” from Canadian electronic musician Jacques Greene, whose performance will also be featured at the festival. This unique soundscape, complemented by BHX’s striking visuals, promises to create an unforgettable sensory journey.
III Points Festival, known for its eclectic mix of over 60 musical artists and artistic installations, will host the BHX on the west side of Stage 9 at Mana Wynwood, located at 2217 NW 5th Ave, Miami, FL. The installation will be open from 5 PM to 2 AM on both festival days.
Age of Union, founded in 2021, aims to empower changemakers dedicated to tackling critical environmental challenges. The organization also produces documentary films that highlight impactful conservation stories, including the award-winning “Wildcat,” named Outstanding Nature Documentary at the 44th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards.
