The Art of Banksy: Legendary Street Artist

It’s increasingly rare these days for a visual artist to reach rock star status, but like Basquiat and Warhol before him, the anonymous British street artist known only as Banksy has managed to do just that. Even before his Balloon Girl sold for $1.4 million — only to immediately shred itself at the auction house — Banksy’s name was legend. Taking a cue from graffiti culture, Banksy strikes where you least expect him, spraying stenciled, satirical pictures on walls, boats, fake money and even a live elephant. Now, with over 80 original works, the biggest Banksy exhibit ever assembled is invading Magic City Studios in Miami.
