The Arsht Center’s annual Family Fest series

The Arsht Center’s annual Family Fest series returns with another round of free events and performances by some of Miami’s top artists. The 12th season of Family Fest begins November 23 and continues through May 16, highlighting hip-hop, orchestral music, ballet and Haitian culture.

305 Hip-hop
November 23, 2019, 1:30 p.m.
First-access passes will be available on November 4, 2019, 12 p.m.
This celebration of local hip-hop culture features appearances by Flipside Kings, a Miami-based b-boy crew founded in 1994, and Daniel “Krave” Fila, a Miami graffiti artist who will lead interactive workshops on the four elements of hip-hop: DJ’ing, rapping, graffiti painting and break dancing.

Miami Music Project
March 14, 2020, 1:30 p.m.
First-access passes will be available on February 24, 2020, 12 p.m.
Miami Music Project, an organization that uses classical music to transform the lives of children through education and live performance, will present this concert featuring some of the young musicians it serves.

Miami City Ballet’s “Don Quixote”
April 18, 2020, 2:00 p.m.
First-access passes will be available on March 30, 2020, 12 p.m.
This event offers families an opportunity to see the first act of Miami City Ballet’s “Don Quixote,” appearing in full April 17-19 at the Ziff Ballet Opera House’s Dorothea Green Theater. As a complement to the April 18 Family Fest performance, families are invited to participate in various flamenco-inspired activations. Guests will be able to design their own abanicos (fans), learn flamenco in an intergenerational dance class led by Damaris Ferrer, and take photographs with a few of Miami City Ballet’s pre-professional dancers against a flamenco-inspired backdrop.

Tribute to Haitian Heritage
May 16, 2020, 1:30 p.m.
First-access passes will be available on April 27, 2020, 12 p.m.
Haitian culture and community will be celebrated at this event featuring food, music and entertainment. The celebration features a performance from Miami’s own Tradisyon Lakou Lakay dance company.

*Details about First-Access Passes and the Standby Line
There is a 4 pass limit per guest. Reserve passes online at arshtcenter.org or by calling the Adrienne Arsht Center box office at 305.949.6722. Guests without a First-Access Pass are always invited to join the standby line.

First-Access Passes do not guarantee admission. First-Access Passes give guests access to seats beginning one hour prior to curtain and seating is “first come, first admitted” for the performance. First-Access Passes expire 15 minutes before showtime.

Guests without a First-Access Pass, and any Pass-holders who arrive within 15 minutes of showtime or later, are invited to join the stand-by line. Guests in the stand-by line will be seated 15 minutes before curtain – if seats are still available.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a variety of pre-show activities before each performance.
