MIAMI’S SOCIAL COMMUNITY COMES OUT IN SUPPORT OF WLRN AT ONE NIGHT ONLY: TERRY GROSS NOVEMBER 7th AT THE GANSEVOORT SOUTH BEACH HOTEL
 
Miami, Fl- On the night of Saturday, November 7th, 2009 Miami’s social and business communities will converge to lend support to 91.3 WLRN, welcoming Terry Gross  at  Friends of WLRN’s new signature event, One Night Only: Terry Gross. Bacardi USA, Inc., Bal Harbour Shops, AutoNation, Carlton Fields and Café Bustelo are just a few of the sponsors of the event.
 
The evening will feature an array of activities, including cocktails by the ocean, a silent auction and, of course, a sit-down dinner with a program by Terry Gross, legendary host of NPR’s Fresh Air. The evening’s Master of Ceremonies will be bestselling author of South Beach: The Novel, Brian Antoni, the undisputed authority on Miami Beach.
 
Also lending their support via silent auction donations to the organization are: Romero Britto, The Biltmore Hotel, Tiffany & Co., The Catalina Hotel, Vidal Sassoon Salon, Chef Allen’s and Oceania Cruises amongst others…
 
What promises to be an unforgettable night attended by the who’s who of Miami’s social scene, Friends of WLRN CEO, Rick Lewis comments, “It is a pleasure to join forces with some of South Florida’s leading institutions to support another one: the community’s premiere public radio and television service.  Businesses and individuals are coming together with a level of excitement we haven’t seen in any of our previous high-profile events.  This will be one for the record books.”

On Terry Gross:

On Brian Antoni:
Brian Antoni has spent the last twenty years researching for South Beach: The Novel, working – at times – as a doorman and bathroom attendant at South Beach’s hippest clubs. Brian also wrote about Miami, along with Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, Elmore Leonard and other authors, in the New York Times bestselling serial novel, Naked Came the Manatee.
