Mehmet Bayraktar, chairman and CEO of Flagstone Property Group – the visionary behind North America’s first superyacht marina, Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Miami’s Watson Island – unveiled The Deck at Island Gardens as the latest addition to the development. Offering panoramic waterfront views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami, The Deck at Island Gardens is now open with special weekend and summer hours for global marina clients who arrive via superyacht and locals who love the yachting lifestyle.

“The addition of The Deck at Island Gardens honors Miami as North America’s newest superyachting capital, but also, as a one-stop entertainment and lifestyle destination,” said Mehmet Bayraktar, chairman and CEO, Flagstone Property Group. “Visitors can come by either land or sea, and relax in the lounge while enjoying the best waterfront views in South Florida, overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Downtown Miami skyline.”

Bayraktar commissioned renowned Miami nightlife entrepreneurs, Michael Capponi and Eric Milon, to activate the waterfront destination, an amenity of the superyacht marina. The vision was to bring together all of the high-level components needed to develop the ultimate Miami hotspot – the finest music, culinary, leisure, entertainment and health and wellness offerings complementing the splendor of the world’s largest yachts and breathtaking waterfront views.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response from local socialites and the yachting elite since our opening last month,” said Michael Capponi, entrepreneur and co-founder of InList.com. “The Deck at Island Gardens comes alive weekly with the Friday Dinner Party, WELLTH Saturdays with activities such as waterfront yoga, and on Sundays, we’ve introduced a luxe speakeasy brunch and an exclusive sunset lounge concept complete with nightlife and music.”

On Friday evenings, The Deck at Island Gardens is home to the Friday Night Dinner Party series, where guests mingle and enjoy menu items inspired by the global yachting circuit (i.e. Salad Nicoise for a bite of the Cote D’Azur), while taking in breathtaking nighttime views of the downtown Miami skyline’s spectacle of lights. Friday Night Dinner Parties take place weekly from 6:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

WELLTH Saturdays, a tribute to the belief that wellness is the new wealth, invites the public to enjoy the sunset ocean views while practicing yoga or other balancing activities to partake in with friends and family. WELLTH Saturdays will also boast occasional celebrity guest chefs as well as partnerships with local health and fitness retailers and organizations.

Sundays at The Deck at Island Gardens are frequented by celebrities including Patrick SchwarzeneggerAdriana Lima and Ivana Trump, athletes such as Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen, as well as Miami elite and the marina’s ultra-high-net-worth clients who arrive from their megayacht, sail in by speedboat or favorite car for an all-day affair. Brunch commences at 1:00 p.m. with an expansive buffet; guests can also reserve one of the waterfront cabanas overlooking the superyachts anchored at Island Gardens Deep Harbour. From 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., The Deck at Island Gardens transforms into an exclusive sunset party. This luxe speakeasy environment has been compared to the beachfront parties of Ibiza and features an á la carte menu of Mediterranean-themed dishes, such as a fresh Mykonos salad, slow-simmered, charcoal roasted octopus, or the famous grand mezze platter. Guests can wine, dine and dance late into the night.

Island Gardens Deep Harbour opened in early January and is now fully operational and accepting daily, monthly, seasonal and annual leases.  The superyacht marina offers 5,000 linear feet of capacity, accommodating an average of 50 yachts stretching up to 550 feet and drafts of 18-21 feet deep.
