Super Bowl weekend entertainment event donates proceeds to Haiti's earthquake victims

Kevin “Silk” Brewer, managing member of The K&H Group, LLC and Founder/CEO of Yes Yes Y’all Entertainment, Inc., announced today that a percentage of all proceeds from the upcoming “Miami Big Game Extravaganza” will be donated to aid survivors of the earthquake tragedy in Haiti.

Monies will be donated to Yele Haiti, a grassroots movement founded by musician Wyclef Jean that builds global awareness for Haiti, while helping to transform the country through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment.

“What has happened to the people of Haiti is heart wrenching,” Brewer said about his decision to donate a portion of the proceeds. “People are in need and it is our deepest desire to help in every way we can.”

The K&H Group, LLC has partnered with Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc. (FANM), Haitian Women of Miami, to place drop boxes at the event site for donations of dry goods, first-aid supplies, non-perishable foods, water and blankets.

Located in the heart of Miami’s Little Haiti, FANM’s mission is to empower Haitian women and their families socially, politically and facilitate their adjustments to South Florida.

The earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale, devastated Port-au-Prince leaving an estimated 150,000 dead and three million without access to food, water, shelter and electricity in the impoverished nation. These numbers swell as the Haitian people carry the dead to large pits to be dumped into and buried or carrying them to large tire fires for the purpose of burning the dead.

The need for donations, food, water, supplies and medical attention are critical, Brewer said.

The event will feature entertainers including Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly; Freddie McGregor, Musiq Soulchild, Sean Kingston, Trey Songz; the Richard Williams Tennis & Education Clinic with Richard Williams and George Henry; additional activities include “The Road to London Series” Amateur Women Boxing and a viewing party of the Big Game.

The weekend is estimated to draw a crowd of approximately 30,000.
