SUNDANCE CHANNEL TO AIR SEASON FINALE OF THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED MUSIC SERIES ‘LIVE FROM ABBEY ROAD’ FEAT. ‘MICHAEL BUBLE,’ ‘LITTLE BOOTS,’THE TEMPER TRAP’

Some bites from the season finale of Sundance Channel’s original 12-part music series “Live From Abbey Road” airing on Friday, May 14 at 8PM ET/PT.  Below are excerpts from ‘Michael Buble’ and ‘Little Boots’ as well as the band ‘The Temper Trap.’

Michael Bublé on contemporary artists:

I’m not putting down artists that are contemporary artists but how many songs by these contemporary artists do you think anyone will give a shit about?  Do you think in thirty or fifty years or ninety years a kid is going to sit with his grandpa and go, ‘No really, my hump, my hump, my lovely lady bump.  Grandpa don’t you love this sh**?’

‘The Temper Trap’ on recognition and success after hard work

I think we worked hard in the beginning days with nothing to show for it…giving up lots of weeknights just to practice and develop our sound and whatever, when there was no one sort of going, ‘You’re doing good.’  It’s been like five years, or longer, of just slugging away and people kind of think, ‘Oh, you just came up out of nowhere,’ which is true, but [it] feels like we’ve been playing in this band for an eternity.

Michael Bublé on his start and early success:

The journey was, obviously a tough one but I think now that I realize what I went through I wouldn’t ever take any of it back.  It helped me to be who I am now and it allowed me to realize too, at the same time, how extremely lucky I was because you see a lot of really, incredibly talented people who haven’t had the break that I had.

Victoria Hesketh a.k.a ‘Little Boots’ on pop music:

I’m a big fan of pop music, but I think really it’s just great songwriting, songs that last the test of time in that three minute space that can just take you somewhere or change your emotion is such a powerful thing really.

Michael Bublé talking about jazz:

Believe it or not, it was Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ record that actually introduced me to jazz.  You listen to that record it’s, it’s beautiful.
