Whether it’s 17 year old Miley Cyrus getting a new tattoo, or Lady Gaga showing up sans trousers to Yankee Stadium, style is all about expressing yourself, says Oreet Mizrahi, international image consultant.
“For sure, Miley’s tattoo and Lady’s wardrobe were attention getting, but at their heart, those two young women were ultimately just expressing themselves, and that’s what real style is all about,” said Mizrahi, coauthor of the book Inspired Style.
As a body image and appearance expert, with a profound understanding of principles of proportion, style, wardrobe needs and body language, it is easy to see how Oreet rapidly earned a worldwide reputation. Although she’s familiar with many aspects of image consultancy, her passion lies with body image and body language awareness.
Developing awareness and a positive relationship with one’s own body and being able to recognize and understand its language is fundamental for establishing a strong sense of self-confidence and an elevated self-esteem.
“How you look has a great impact on how you feel. It is a fact!” says Mizrahi. “Looking good has nothing to do with your weight, age, or even the amount of money you are willing to spend. It is about recognizing your own unique self, respecting and appreciating who you are, and knowing how to project your best.”
Specializing in the areas of semiotics—signs and symbols in nonverbal communication—appearance and body image, Oreet is an International Certified Image Consultant who is also a certified Self-Esteem Coach. Oreet deems that the all-important “good first impression,” coupled with a commanding, constant presence, is definitely the key to personal and professional success.
Oreet has never offered less than 100% to every client using her gift of personal assessment to literally change people’s lives. She has always maintained that there is a significant increase in self-esteem and self-assurance, when a person outwardly portrays the image they want people to see. Oreet is an active member of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), a world wide non-profit professional association, and serves as vice president of marketing for AICI’s Florida chapter.
Oreet has also become an enthusiastically member of Toastmaster International where she enjoys public speaking. Currently, she serves as secretary of board.
