In an exciting announcement for small businesses in the retail sector, Square has partnered with Social Change Fund United, 1863 Ventures, and American Express to launch a new accelerator program called FORWARD. This program is specifically designed for Black and Latino business owners, and is aimed at helping them scale their operations, develop better leadership skills, and connect with industry mentors.

On Monday, June 5th, Miami Ironside was abuzz with excitement as the first cohort of 25 FORWARD participants celebrated their graduation from the accelerator program. At the event, attendees were treated to a series of panel discussions and workshops, featuring celebrity mentors like Dwyane Wade and Rosario Dawson.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the panel discussion between entrepreneurship guru Ayesha Curry and Naomi Wheeless, Square’s Global Head of Customer Success. During this intimate conversation, Curry shared her insights on the future of entrepreneurship and offered valuable advice on scaling a business for profitable growth.

Other highlights included a panel discussion featuring Earn Your Leisure hosts Troy Millings and Rashad Bilal, Cerveceria La Tropical CEO Manny Portuondo, and NBA Stylist Calyann Barnett, moderated by Naomi Wheeless. Attendees were also treated to a live performance by TIDAL Rising Artist PaoPao, as well as plenty of opportunities to network and share ideas.
