Spoil mom with a special treat this Mother’s Day at Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in Fort Lauderdale (800 E. Las Olas Blvd) on Sunday, May 8 starting at 11 a.m. with delicious food and drink specials curated with moms in mind. Moms will be handed a rose on this special occasion and treated to a $25 gift certificate (valid for a return visit, restrictions apply).

 

Moms will surely love the new brunch menu specials available on her special day starting at 11 a.m. including the Huevos Benedict a la Florentina with baby spinach, roasted shallots, roasted garlic cream, Manchego cheese and poached eggs with Hawaiian King toast and tomato Hollandaise; Churrasquitos bowl Benedict which has plancha seared thin slices of marinated skirt steak, roasted peppers, and onions with poached eggs, white rice and tomato Hollandaise; Chorizo-Potato Frittata – a three-egg Spanish tortilla with Chorizo sausage, roasted potatoes, sour cream and jack cheese with watercress and organic grape tomato salad infused with red wine vinaigrette; Jamón con Huevo sandwich which has fried egg, country ham, crispy bacon, cheddar, and roasted onions on a toasted King Hawaiian roll with fried Yuca  and mayoketchup sauce; and Aguacate y Pan cilantro-lime avocado toast made with artisan bread and marinated organic grape tomatoes, Bermuda onions and soft-boiled eggs topped with goat cheese crumble. All for $18.50 respectively.

 

Mother’s Day brunch drink specials will include a light, refreshing and spritzy “Berry Special Lady Spritzer” with Ciroc Red Berry, lime juice, agave, bitters, raspberry purée, strawberry purée, and a splash of sprite ($13); even more, bottomless pitchers such as classic cocktails for $17 per person and premium which includes all options from classic plus more for $22 per person. Options include classic bloody mary, red or white sangrias, mimosas, mojitos (classic, passion fruit or coconut), and margaritas (classic or mango).

 

Additional new menu items available on Mother’s Day include Malanga Fritters which is a traditional Cuban street food of crispy taro, garlic and West Indies culantro ($10.75); Bistec Empanizado a delicious plantain breaded Palomilla steak, served with Congri and tostones Hawaianos and pickled okra ($28.50); Masitas de Puerco Fritas comprising of tender morsels of pork, slowly roasted in Spanish style sauce, sautéed onions mojo served with white rice, black beans and tostones ($24.50); and Octopus al Carbón made up of charcoal grilled, marinated Spanish octopus leg and Romesco sauce with a side of asparagus-grilled artichoke hearts salad infused with herb vinaigrette ($18.50).
