This year, the Los Angeles and Miami Spanish Film Series join forces to co-host and present a combined special edition of Recent Spanish Cinema that is both a LOG-IN and DRIVE-IN event, tailored to fit the pandemic situation.
When:
Drive-In Opening Night in Los Angeles: Oct 22nd
Virtual Film Series, Panels and Industry Events: Oct 23rd – Oct 28th
Drive-In Closing Night in Miami: Oct 29th
The program will include virtual screenings, filmmaker and talent Q&As and industry panels and will be held online except for the opening and closing night movies that will take place at drive-ins in Los Angeles and Miami.
Exact details of the full program and information on media accreditation for the virtual press junket will be announced in the following weeks. Stay tuned!
One on one interviews will be available with Spanish talent.
Presented by the Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), a part of the Ministry of Cultureand Sport, the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, EGEDA US (US-based Spanish producers association and The Olympia Theater in Miami.
ABOUT THE ICAA, SPAIN
The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts [Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales] (ICAA) is an independent body ascribed to the Secretary of State for Culture, which programmes policies to support the film industry and audiovisual production.
The Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (ICAA) is responsible for films and the world of audiovisuals in Spain, their management, functioning, awards, legislation, agreements, grants and subsidies, etc. Its functions include to hold relations with international and foreign bodies and institutions and to encourage, promote and arrange Spain’s cinematographic and audiovisual activities in its three facets: production, distribution and viewing.
ABOUT THE AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE, LOS ANGELES
The American Cinematheque is a non-profit cultural organization whose mission is to celebrate the experience of cinema as a moving art form; we create spaces where both the public and members of the film industry come together as a community with the common language and love of film. Since it began screening films to the public in 1985, the American Cinematheque has provided diverse film programming and live in-person discussions and events with thousands of filmmakers and luminaries, presenting both new and repertory cinema to Los Angeles. The Cinematheque presents most of its programs at the historic Egyptian and Aero theatres, as well as online and currently at the Drive In.

EGEDA US is the US-based Iberoamerican producers association.
EGEDA (Spanish acronym for the “Audio-visual Producers’ Rights Management Association”) is a non-profit association and collecting society, which manages the rights of the audiovisual producers. The Association represents and defends the interests of Spanish and Latin American audio-visual producers through all its branches in Latin America.
EGEDA US based in Los Angeles & Miami, was set up in order to serve as a major link between the Spanish film industry and the American and Latino film industries.

ABOUT OLYMPIA THEATER, MIAMI
The Olympia Theatre coproduces The Spanish Film series in Miami. Built in 1926 by Paramount as a Movie and Vaudeville palace, the Olympia Theater is a beacon for the South Florida arts community. The magnificently restored theater is home to live performances, films, community events, corporate meetings and social affairs.
