SNL Legend Joe Piscopo to Host Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar
Fort Lauderdale’s 1st Anniversary Celebration Event

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in Fort Lauderdale (800 E. Las Olas Blvd.) will kick-off its month-long first anniversary celebration with a special event hosted by Saturday Night Live (SNL) alumnus, entertainer and radio personality Joe Piscopo on Thursday, April 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner guests will have the opportunity to meet Piscopo and be entertained, as he emcees and (as he suggests in this video invitation) sings during the evening event. The kick-off celebration is the first in a series of events planned in honor of the restaurant’s one year anniversary.
Piscopo has proved to be one of show business’ brightest lights for decades. After a career as a disc jockey and dinner-theater performer, Joe turned to comedy. He was chosen to join a newly formed ensemble charged with one of the most difficult tasks in TV history – replacing the original cast of Saturday Night Live. By the time he left the show, Joe had left his mark not only on the program, but the nation.
His work on SNL naturally led to Hollywood where he had starring roles in Wise Guys (with Danny DeVito) and Johnny Dangerously (with Michael Keaton), among other film credits.
Today Joe is the host of The Joe Piscopo Show on 970 AM “The Answer,” achieving the respect of being the most listened to radio show in the Greater New York area, and Sundays with Sinatra – on that city’s venerable 77WABC.
While dinner reservations for this event are open to the public, 50 Fort Lauderdale locals will be given enhanced access to meet Piscopo, as well as enjoy complimentary cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres.
