The South Florida favorite known for putting Miami’s fashionable Design District neighborhood on the culinary map, Chef Michael Schwartz welcomes Festival guests to Jungle Plaza and the neighborhood for a night of savory pizzas under the stars. To celebrate his cookbook Genuine Pizza: Better Pizza at Home (Harry N. Abrams, May 2019) Schwartz will round up some of the country’s top pizza chefs to serve up seemingly endless, ooey-gooey slices of pizza for guests to indulge in, as they groove to the indie rock beats of The Hails and sip on refreshing beer, wine and cocktails. The Hails are an indie rock band formed in Gainesville, FL whose sound is a reflection of the band’s appreciation of a wide variety of musical styles – marrying elements of 70s and 80s pop rock with the colorful and sometimes moody aesthetic of modern indie/alternative. Wood-fired, oven-baked, thin crust and more – there is a pizza pie for everyone!
