Artistic Director Patrick Dupre Quigley and the Seraphic Fire artists perform a crash course on the history of Western music in one lively evening with chorus, period keyboard instruments, and cello. The contrasts and connections between eras will be on full display: the stark simplicity of Medieval chant, the rich polyphony of the Renaissance, the ornate structure of the Baroque, the elegant balance of the Classical, the passionate intensity of the Romantic, and the creative ingenuity of the Contemporary.
Tune into Seraphic Fire’s first interactive online Scholar Lecture on September 24, 2024 from 7:00 pm- 8:30 pm. Led by Dr. Honey Meconi, professor of Musicology at Eastman School of Music, the ZOOM registration is FREE and can be found at https://seraphicfire.org/education/scholar-lectures.html.
