“By working with the children, providing education, care and support, building knowledge and confidence, this generation can look forward with hope and live healthy and happy lives.”

Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale is pleased to announce the Sentebale – Stories of Hope exhibition, will open at Getty Images Gallery, London on 26th July 2013 until 10th August, showcasing images by Getty Images’  award-winning royal photographer Chris Jackson of Sentebale’s work in helping the vulnerable children of Lesotho.

Since Sentebale began in 2006, the charity has improved the lives of thousands of children living in Lesotho by providing healthcare and education to those most in need. Over the years, Jackson has travelled back and forth to Lesotho with Prince Harry and has developed a portfolio of images which capture the problems these children face, and more importantly, show how Sentebale is making a big difference to many of their lives.

The exhibition is made up of a selection of images covering every aspect of Sentebale’s work in Lesotho; from portraits of the harsh reality of daily life for many orphans and herd boys, to the positive outcomes of those children with disabilities receiving an education, and HIV-positive children growing in confidence as they attend Sentebale’s Mamohato Camps.

Other highlights of the show include the unveiling of the plans to build the Mamohato Children’s Centre – allowing Sentebale to quadruple the number of HIV-positive it can provide psycho-social support to, and  exclusive and unseen photographs of Sentebale’s founding patrons Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, and ambassador Nacho Figueras and the Sentebale team.

The Sentebale – Stories of Hope exhibition has been sponsored by Getty Images Gallery. The show will be open to the public with free admission beginning on the 26th July and prints are available of all the images with a percentage of proceeds going to Sentebale.

Cathy Ferrier, CEO of Sentebale commented “Sentebale are delighted to be partnering with Chris Jackson and Getty Images Gallery to deliver a visual record of our work. We have ambitious plans to expand, including building a specialist centre for children living with HIV which will allow us to reach many more young people in Lesotho. We would like to invite everyone along to the exhibition to see for themselves the difference we are making to the children of Lesotho.”

Louise Garczewska, Senior Director of Getty Images Gallery commented

“We are delighted to be working with Sentebale on this initial exhibition showcasing their work in Lesotho.  It is impossible not to be moved by the children’s stories and their irrepressible optimism captured in Chris Jackson’s photography.  We hope this exhibition helps raise awareness of Sentebale’s vital work and that print sales provide much needed funds for the Mamohato Project.”
