Second Annual Michael The Grinder Mizrachi Charity Poker Tournament

The second annual Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi Charity Poker Tournament to benefit David Posnack Jewish Community Center’s (JCC) Preschool/Special Needs Scholarship Fund will launch on Wed., Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at The Poker Room at Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The top award will be $10,000* or an entry into the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in April 2012.

A $150 buy-in donation will secure a seat in this exciting and charitable tournament. One free re-buy is available if the ticket is purchased through the David Posnack JCC by January 11, 2012 (a $25 value). During play, there will be an optional re-buy structure for the first 90 minutes with re-buys of $25 and a $50 add-on.

 

Mizrachi is a North Miami Beach, Florida native whose success in the poker playing field has garnered him international fame as well as $11.2 million dollars to date. Mizrachi, known as “The Grinder” for his solid consistent playing style, won the 2010 World Series of Poker’s $50,000 buy-in Players Championship, was 2006 Cardplayer of the Year and holds 19 titles including two World Poker Tour titles.

 

“We invite players of all levels to join us for a thrilling event designed to enrich our youth and educational community by providing financial assistance to families in need,” said Scott Ehrlich, executive director of the David Posnack JCC. “Last year, our inaugural tournament saw more than 200 players and raised $28,150. This year, our goal is to exceed that number.”
