SAWGRASS MILLS TO HONOR SEVEN COMMUNITY LEADERS DURING ITS SIGNATURE “ROLE MODELS” EVENT ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2010

Sawgrass Mills, one of the world’s most popular shopping destinations and the largest outlet, value retail and entertainment center in the United States, is proud to announce the seven esteemed community leaders to be recognized during its “Role Models” fundraiser on Thursday, October 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. under the stars at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills. This event marks Sawgrass Mills’ 20th anniversary and will also coincide with “Gator Glam” presented by Billie Swamp Safari, a juried exhibition/auction of seven foot-tall whimsical alligator sculptures embellished by leading artists, to benefit Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.

“Role Models” will pay tribute to the community’s most valuable assets during an evening of fun and glamour with delicious food and spirits, live entertainment, an awards presentation, silent auction and more. Prominent honorees include Andrew Cagnetta; G. Patricia Cantwell, M.D.; Laura Finley; Sherry Friedlander; Jen Klassens; Neil Goldberg; and George Platt. These distinguished men and women have been selected by the participating charities based on the honoree’s continued commitment to philanthropic causes and the positive impact they have had on the lives of their friends and neighbors.

“We are honored to once again present this prominent event, which will recognize the immeasurable impact that these select individuals have had in support of some very worthy causes,” said Carol Henderson, director of marketing and business development of Sawgrass Mills.  “We remain committed to the South Florida community and look forward to years and years of more great shopping and our involvement with vital non-profit organizations.”

Sawgrass Mills’ Role Models provides local charities the opportunity to raise much needed funds for vital community programs. Ticket sales will benefit A Child Is Missing, Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, Broward Public Library Foundation, Cooperative Feeding Program, Hospice Care of Southeast Florida, No More Tears, Starlight Children’s Foundation and The Neil Goldberg Dream Foundation.
