Beloved Salt & Straw ice cream opens a new scoop shop today in Miami, bringing their cult-favorite flavors to South Beach [749 Lincoln Road, Miami, FL, 33139].
Co-founders and cousins Kim and Tyler Malek received a warm welcome from the Miami community when they opened their shops in Wynwood and Coconut Grove, and are excited to join the community on Lincoln Road, making their innovative flavors available to locals and tourists alike.
To celebrate the new opening, Salt & Straw chef, co-founder and head ice cream innovator Tyler Malek teamed up with Groot Hospitality’s Papi Steak and viral, luxe cookie brand Last Crumb to create an exclusive Pistachio Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich. Pistachio gelato and dark cherry buttercream are sandwiched between an olive oil chocolate wafer and a chocolate fudge pistachio cookie, and drizzled with black truffle fudge and gold leaf bourbon caramel.
The item will be offered during grand opening weekend with limited availability, and reflects Salt & Straw’s ongoing commitment to support Miami businesses and purveyors, having collaborated with teams at Salty Donut, Panther Coffee, Exquisito Chocolates, Coconut Cartel, Gables Delight, Wynwood Brewing, Equality Florida and YES Institute. During their opening weekend, Salt & Straw will also be donating proceeds of the ice cream sandwich to Style Saves, the non-profit organization that provides youths and their families with essential goods to increase academic achievement.
In addition to the special offering, Salt & Straw will also feature classics such as Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Honey Lavender, and Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper, as well as September’s seasonal menu, the Harvest Festival Series. Inspired by the fun celebrated at fall carnivals, the flavors include:
Pumpkin Spiced Tiramisu – spiced coffee ice cream sweetened with maple syrup, cinnamon, clove, and ginger, mixed with tiramisu cake swirl and coffee mascarpone, and topped with chocolate stracciatella.
Beecher’s Cheese with Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls – a sweet and creamy Beecher’s Flagship Cheese ice cream with cinnamon swirls and an apple pie filling.
Caramel Apple Sherbet – apple juice sherbet made with apples from Treetop, a cooperative farm in the heart of Washington’s apple country in Selah, with vanilla-infused caramel ribbons, creating a deeper, more complex flavor.
Pinot Poached Pear Sherbet – pickled pears bathed in a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Sokol Blosser Winery are blended into Salt & Straw’s classic Double Fold Vanilla ice cream to create a refreshing sherbet.
Chocolate Plum & Hazelnut Shortbread (v) – crumbles of flakey hazelnut shortbread are peppered with dark chocolate chips and mixed into coconut cream and swirled with gobs of plum marmalade.
The new scoop shop is located at the corner of Meridian Ave and Lincoln Road, in the heart of the dining and shopping destination.
