Rocker Eddie Money to Perform at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek @SemCasinococo

Eddie Money will perform for one night only at The Pavilion at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek on Saturday, August 31 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Sunday, June 30 at 8 a.m.

In 1968, after serving as a New York City police officer for two years, Money put his law enforcement career on hold to pursue music. He moved to Berkeley, Calif. and began performing at local clubs. In 1976, after changing his surname from Mahoney to Money, Eddie’s fate changed when he was introduced to legendary promoter Bill Graham while performing at one of Graham’s events. The two quickly became close, with Graham serving as both his mentor and manager.

Money burst onto the scene with his eponymous debut album in 1977. Fans immediately fell in love with his sound, and the album, which went double platinum, featured hits like “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Money followed the success of his debut album with a stream of Top 40 hits, as well as some of the era’s most creative videos for songs like “Think I’m in Love” and “Shakin.” In 1986, the singer released Can’t Hold Back, which featured the classic, Grammy-nominated duet with Ronnie Spector, “Take Me Home Tonight.”  The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album went platinum and also featured the hit “I Wanna Go Back.” He followed the album in 1988 with Nothing to Lose, which featured the Top Ten hit “Walk on Water.” Two years later, “Peace in Our Times,” taken from the 1989 Greatest Hits: The Sound of Money, reached number 11.

In addition to maintaining a busy touring schedule, he has been featured on hit television shows such as The King of Queens and The Drew Carey Show. In recent years, Eddie has been joined on tour by his daughter, Jesse Money, a talented and charismatic vocalist who has chosen to follow in her father’s footsteps.

As the years have passed, his blue-collar brand of rock and roll has managed to transcend generations and continues to move audiences today. Along with having sold more than 28 million records, his songs have appeared in dozens of movies and television shows and have recently been included in hit video games like Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero.
