This month’s Jazz at MOCA features a performance by Jowee Omicil, an alumnus of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, and native of Montreal with roots in Haiti.  Known for his poetic style on the saxophone, flute and clarinet, and a sound influenced by such jazz greats as Kenny Garrett, Wayne Shortner, John Coltrane and Miles Davis, Omicil is going to put on a sensational show that you won’t want to miss.  The outdoor concert starts at 8 pm.
Arrive early for the concert at 7:15 pm and join author Madafi Pierre as reads selections from her book of poems, essays and short stories, The Meltdown of a Sweet Black Cat. The reading and book signing takes place in MOCA’s lobby.
