Project PEP Collection Launch at Jimmy Choo, Bal Harbour Shops

project pepProject PEP was designed to support the funding of the Simelela Rape Center in Cape Town, South Africa. The women and girls of South Africa have become victims to the deadly AIDS epidemic and are helpless to the cruelty they face daily from their male counterparts. Elton John AIDS Foundation and Jimmy Choo have joined forces to provide treatment for these under privileged women.

On November 4, 2009, the Project PEP Collection will be launched at the Jimmy Choo Store in Bal Harbour Shops. The collection features flip flops, flats, heels, cuffs, clutches, totes, mobile tags, scarves, bangles and ID lanyards all with punk rock motif prints. The prices range from $95 to $975. Jimmy Choo will donate 25% of the net sales from Project PEP to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.  With this funding, they can directly support the pioneering Simelela Rape Centre in Cape Town that was set up in 2005, with the mission to administer victims of abuse with the vital HIV preventative PEP medication (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) and provide the infrastructure for medical, counselling and legal support.
