STARZ Unveils Exciting Details for the Third Season of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

Fans of the hit series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” are eagerly anticipating the show’s highly anticipated third season, set to return on December 1. STARZ has released the official trailer, character art, and key art, giving viewers a glimpse into the upcoming chapters of this gripping origin story.

Continuing the tale of Kanan Stark, brilliantly portrayed by MeKai Curtis, the new season delves deeper into his transformation from a devoted son into the formidable and morally ambiguous personality known to fans of the original “Power” series. This evolution is explored under the watchful eye of his mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas, played by the talented Patina Miller.

The trailer offers a tantalizing preview of the tumultuous journey that lies ahead for the Thomas family, particularly Raquel, who is attempting to start anew after surviving a vicious attack orchestrated by the Mob. However, Kanan is skeptical of her intentions and struggles to trust her claims of leaving the game behind. As the trailer cryptically suggests, the truth is often obscured, and Kanan has learned the hard way not to let his guard down. Adding to the intrigue, the trailer also introduces Italian mob boss Stefano, masterfully portrayed by Tony Danza, as well as new adversaries “Snaps” and “Pop,” played by Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods, respectively.

Throughout the last two seasons, Kanan Stark has gradually uncovered the secrets and lies woven into his family’s history, forcing him to confront uncomfortable truths about himself and those he holds dear. In season three, Kanan is faced with a moral crisis, questioning notions of right and wrong, good and evil. This existential journey extends to every member of the Thomas family, who must grapple with their own identities and navigate a treacherous path to self-reinvention. While some may find solace and redemption, others may encounter a terrifying revelation – the absence of absolutes.

Joining an exceptional cast that includes Patina Miller, MeKai Curtis, Tony Danza, Wendell Pierce, and Erika Woods, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” boasts a star-studded ensemble. Omar Epps portrays Detective Malcolm Howard, while London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, and Shanley Caswell reprise their respective roles. Additionally, Antonio Ortiz returns as “Famous,” and Grantham Coleman joins the cast as “Ronnie” for this season.

Sascha Penn serves as showrunner and executive producer for the third season, with Courtney A. Kemp, creator and showrunner of the original “Power,” leading the production as an executive producer through her company End of Episode. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, alongside Mark Canton, Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, Santa Sierra, and Tash Grey, also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television exclusively for STARZ.

Don’t miss the gripping new episodes of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” as they premiere on December 1. With weekly releases on Fridays at midnight ET on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms, viewers can once again immerse themselves in the complex and thrilling world of “Power.”
