Walking away from 2011, dubstep most certainly had its game upped in the music video department, especially by one camp in particular.
Sure, there were some breakthroughs in videos ranging from the comic book style animations of Doctor P and Flux Pavilion on ”Superbad” or even the surly Santa in Skrillex’s ”Ruffneck,” but no one had the output of the guys over at Dub Police.
Putting out over a dozen releases throughout the year, they managed almost as many videos—not bad for an independent label. Emalkay’s “Crusader” collecting over half a million views may be eclipsed by Skrillex’s ”First of the Year” collecting 27 million, but the equal attention they’ve put into showcasing the different styles on their roster warrants some extra praise. So… Without further ado, we present this small tribute to the best of Dub Police videos 2011.
