Pinecrest Gardens Announces 2nd Annual “Tropical Nights Live from the Banyan Bowl”

Pinecrest Gardens proudly presents its 2nd annual Tropical Nights Live from the Banyan Bowl, an engaging three-show mini-series set amidst the verdant tropical surroundings of South Florida’s beloved botanical garden. This series offers a dazzling blend of contemporary music with a Latin American flair, accented by the infectious rhythms of tango, samba, and salsa.

 

The lineup for the 2023/24 Tropical Nights Live series includes:

 

“Tango Dreams” with Musical Director Anibal Berraute

Date: Friday, November 17, 2023, at 8 p.m.

Anibal Berraute, the GRAMMY-nominated Argentinean pianist, composer, arranger, and producer, will captivate audiences with his innovative fusion of tango, Uruguayan candombe, traditional folklore, and American jazz.

 

Gafieira Rio Miami: Brazilian Big Band

Date: Friday, January 26, at 8 p.m.

Under the direction of Latin GRAMMY winner Diogo Brown, the ensemble introduces a modern twist to gafieira – an energetic samba tradition. Vocal powerhouse Isa Duarte and Miami’s leading musicians will deliver an exhilarating performance.

 

Chino Nuñez Big Band Orchestra

Date: Friday, February 23, at 8 p.m.

GRAMMY and BILLBOARD award-winning percussionist and producer, Pablo “Chino” Nuñez, will headline the grand finale. With special guest appearances by Lucy Grau, rendering a Donna Summer tribute with a Cuban flair, and Gio Beta, honoring the legendary Marc Anthony, this evening is set to be an unforgettable celebration of Latin rhythms.

 

Tropical Nights provides a glimpse into Pinecrest Gardens’ renowned and expansive Jazz Series, an annual tradition showcasing some of the world’s most talented jazz musicians. Both of these musical celebrations – Tropical Nights and the Jazz Series – are a testament to Pinecrest Gardens’ musical and artistic excellence and are held in the Banyan Bowl. An open-air amphitheater, the Banyan Bowl provides visitors with a unique stage where nature and culture converge under the tropical night sky.
