“In Front of the Mirror”
Theme
The inspiration for this theme is the pandemic, confinement, the day to day of this reality. We encourage you to express your thoughts through images. These times have made everyone self-reflective and now more than ever we have time to think about the world we live in, about our relationships with others and with nature, about the true necessities of life and about our inner worlds.

Who can participate?
Professional and amateur photographers 18 years or older.
How to participate?
Each participant is allowed only to submit ONE photo. This must be original and not have received any previous awards.
The photos can be presented in color or black and white, and with total freedom for the technique used.
Photos cannot present any element that identifies the author.
Each photo must have an explanatory text (maximum 990 characters including spaces) which will include the following:
- Photo title
- Techniques used and objective of the work, as well as the equipment used
- Short paragraph that describes the work
- Text can be written in Spanish or English with no grammatical mistakes
The author / owner of the photo must own all the rights for his/her work. Any work has to be original and cannot have been presented before.
The Cultural Center of Spain in Miami reserves the rights to exclude from the contest any work who could be found discriminatory or in violation of human rights.
When to send the photos?
The reception of the photos will be open from October 1st to 22nd, 2020.
The general public voting period will be open from October 26th to November 8th, 2020.
The winners will be announced on November 10th via our website (www.ccemiami.org) and social media.
How to register?
Participants will have to register themselves starting on October 1st, 2020 via our website.

They will have to include their contact details, upload the photo ( max ONE photo per participant and with size max. 3MB), and an explanatory text. The files must be named with the title of the photo.

Where will the photos be available?
The photos will be available starting on November 3rd on the following link: https://ccemiami.org/en/photocontest/
This is the time when the general public will be allowed to submit their votes.
How will photos be selected?
The general public will be able to vote for their favorites starting on October 26th 2020.
The 9th most voted photos will receive a monetary award, as well as a 10th photo selected by CCEMiami.
What are the awards?
The Cultural Center of Spain will award $150 to each of the 10 photos selected. NINE photos selected by the public and ONE by CCEMiami. This special mention by CCEMiami will be announced on October 29th, 2020. If for any reason, this photo becomes one out of the 9th most voted, then the next in number of votes will be chosen.
Final exhibition of the photos
The TEN final photos will be showcased on a virtual exhibition at the web of The Cultural Center of Spain and Facebook in relation to Art Basel from December 2020.
The winners will have to sent their high resolution photo by November 15th, 2020 to valvarez@ccemiami.org
Winners have to take into account that late submission of the photo is the noncompliance with the photo contest rules and therefore they might lose their awards.
