Beautiful, simply does not describe the incomparable force known to the world as PATTI LABELLE. As time continues to evolve, the soulful songbird’s name has become synonymous with grace, style, elegance and class. Belting out classic rhythm and blues renditions, pop standards and spiritual sonnets have created the unique platform of versatility that she is known and revered for.
Having sold more than 50 million records, PATTI LABELLE has enjoyed one of the longest and most lauded careers in entertainment as a recording artist, actress and best-selling author. Starting her career as the lead singer of Patti LaBelle and the BlueBelles, which went on to become Labelle, she performed regularly at the Apollo Theater, bursting onto the scene with the mega hits “Down the Aisle,” “Oh Danny Boy” and the now iconic “Lady Marmalade.” As a solo artist, LaBelle’s numerous hit records include “If Only You Knew,” “New Attitude,” “Stir It Up,” and “On My Own,” a duet with Michael McDonald which was taken from her triple platinum-selling album Winner in You. Named one of the 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone, she is also the recipient of two Grammys®, five NAACP Image Awards, four American Music Awards and has been inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Apollo Theater Legends Hall of Fame.
World renowned for her dynamic career as an entertainer and entrepreneurial success, LaBelle’s work as a humanitarian is just as legendary. She remains an advocate for adoption and prevention of diabetes, cancer, HIV / AIDS, among many other causes and non-profit initiatives.
