Patti LaBelle to headline Arsht Center’s 14th Anniversary Benefit Concert

As a highlight of its upcoming 14th Season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is pleased to announce the legendary “Godmother of Soul,” PATTI LABELLE (@mspattilabelle) as the headlining artist for its anticipated 14thAnniversary Benefit Concert on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Hosted in the Knight Concert Hall, the one-night-only concert is part of the Center’s annual Gala which benefits its arts education and community outreach programs. Tickets to the 14th Anniversary Benefit Concert are $45, $65, $85*, and will be available to Arsht Center Culturist Members beginning today August 16 at noon EST and to the general public beginning on August 23 at noon EST. Beautiful, simply does not describe the incomparable force known to the world as PATTI LABELLE. As time continues to evolve, the soulful songbird’s name has become synonymous with grace, style, elegance and class. Belting out classic rhythm and blues renditions, pop standards and spiritual sonnets have created the unique platform of versatility that she is known and revered for.

 

Having sold more than 50 million records, PATTI LABELLE has enjoyed one of the longest and most lauded careers in entertainment as a recording artist, actress and best-selling author. Starting her career as the lead singer of Patti LaBelle and the BlueBelles, which went on to become Labelle, she performed regularly at the Apollo Theater, bursting onto the scene with the mega hits “Down the Aisle,” “Oh Danny Boy” and the now iconic “Lady Marmalade.” As a solo artist, LaBelle’s numerous hit records include “If Only You Knew,” “New Attitude,” “Stir It Up,” and “On My Own,” a duet with Michael McDonald which was taken from her triple platinum-selling album Winner in You. Named one of the 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone, she is also the recipient of two Grammys®, five NAACP Image Awards, four American Music Awards and has been inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Apollo Theater Legends Hall of Fame.

 

World renowned for her dynamic career as an entertainer and entrepreneurial success, LaBelle’s work as a humanitarian is just as legendary. She remains an advocate for adoption and prevention of diabetes, cancer, HIV / AIDS, among many other causes and non-profit initiatives.

14TH ANNUAL ARSHT CENTER GALA

For those interested in supporting and attending the entire Gala benefit event, tickets will include a pre-show cocktail reception; dinner crafted by James Beard Award finalist Brad Kilgore of BRAVA! By Brad Kilgore; premium seating for the 14th Anniversary Benefit Concertin the Knight Concert Hall; and a “Party on the Plaza” after-party on the Center’s Thomson Plaza for the Arts.

 

Tickets to the Gala, which includes the cocktail reception, dinner and concert, are available beginning at $2,500*.
