Nation’s largest Walk for Parkinson’s Community is Now in 54 Cities
The Parkinson’s Foundation announced the Spring 2025 event lineup for Moving Day, A Walk for Parkinson’s. Moving Day is the Foundation’s signature fundraising event and a movement for more awareness, funding and a better understanding of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Continuing to expand its presence across the country, Moving Day is now in 33 U.S. cities this spring, bringing the total to 54 for 2025.
“Our signature Moving Day Walk continues to reach areas in need of vital Parkinson’s resources, support and human connection,” said Kayln Henkel, senior vice president and chief advancement officer of the Parkinson’s Foundation. “We are energized and inspired by the dedication of every person who plays a part in Moving Day to unite under a shared common goal – to improve care and advance research toward a cure.”
Moving Day is an inspiring fundraising event that brings communities together to honor loved ones with Parkinson’s disease (PD), celebrate the power of movement and raise critical funds for research and quality care. In the weeks leading up to each event, teams and participants rally support to advance the Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of those living with PD.
In addition to local events, the Foundation also hosts Moving Day @ Home — a virtual walk experience that allows supporters to participate in Moving Day from anywhere in the country. The event welcomes people of all ages and abilities, especially those without a nearby event.
“Fundraising for the Moving Day Walk in honor of my brother, who lives with Parkinson’s disease, has been a highlight of the last five years,” said Moving Day San Francisco team captain and volunteer Gregory Polchow. “I am forever grateful to the work of the Parkinson’s Foundation, for providing crucial resources for people with Parkinson’s, like their Hospital Safety Guide, and contributing to a better quality of life.”
Since 2011, Moving Day has gathered more than 202,000 participants and raised more than $50 million to support the Foundation’s national mission of delivering quality care to nearly 200,000 people living with Parkinson’s, advancing PD research toward a cure and providing free resources and local services for people living with PD and their families.
