Join Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi, as she performs with Concert Master Mei Mei Luo, Principal Viola Richard Fleischman, Principal Clarinet Richard Hancock, and Cellist Ashley Garritson in this entertaining and engaging evening of classical music.

Guests will enjoy drinks and light refreshments as the musicians performs works written by composers whose works Orchestra Miami will perform throughout the 2012-13 season. The program begins with Beethoven’s Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano Op. 11 in B flat Major, followed by a rarely heard gem, the Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano by Gian Carlo Menotti. Following intermission, the audience will be treated to one of the great classics of all time, Stravinsky’s “Suite from Histoire du Soldat” for Clarinet, Violin and Piano as arranged by the composer.  The concert ends with two pieces by Beethoven; the first is the spectacular showpiece aria “Abscheulicher” from Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio, sung by soprano Elizabeth Kataria Beers, followed by one of Beethoven’s most exuberant compositions for chamber music, the Quartet for Piano, Violin, Viola and Cello in C Major, WoO 36, N. 3.

“I feel very strongly that it is important for our audiences to get to know the individual musicians in the orchestra, and recognize the extraordinarily high level of talent which we have in South Florida”, says Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.  “This concert is a great way to introduce our audience to some new music and get to know each other on a more personal level, while highlighting what Orchestra Miami has in store for the 2012-13 season.”
