Open Barre Dance Series Announced
For the third season, MCB will hold Open Barre — a series of three lecture demonstrations at our intimate 200-seat studio theater (Lynn and Louis Wolfson, II Theatre, Ophelia and Juan Js. Roca Center, 2200 Liberty Ave., Miami Beach) The series is part of the Company’s “Dancer Journal” Program, which is meant to give audiences an up-close-and-personal look at select ballets. The events include an open bar reception in MCB’s lobby a half hour before each performance. Plus, if you come Saturday evening, there’s an after-party with complimentary signature cocktails at nearby Aero Bar.
Open Barre 1, on November 13-14, 2009 features three ballet masterworks — In the Night, Black Swan Pas de Deux, and The Four Temperaments. Performances are at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Future Open Barre performances are scheduled for February 26-27 and April 23-24.
