Nouvelle Vague translates as both “new wave” in English and “bossa nova” in Portuguese. Paris’ coolest band takes the best of both styles and creates something fresh – New Wave & punk classics reinterpreted in a French bossa nova 60s pop style. The arrangements from the new “3” album also reference American roots music and bluegrass. The tunes simultaneously remind one of 1970s Manchester, the sands of Copabana, Brazilian tropicalia, and the cinematic cool of Truffaut.
