NOT A TOY TOURING WITH BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT THIS FALL

BAND DROPS “GROWN FOLK PROBLEMS” VIDEO — WATCH

NOT A TOY dropped their debut album PRBLMS, which meshes bold flavors of alt-pop, hip-hop, R&B, and alternative into a unique blend, earlier this year via Fearless Records. Today, the band is pleased to announce it will hit the road this fall with Beauty School Dropout. The tour kicks off on October 15 in Phoenix and runs through December 9 in San Francisco. All dates are below.

“We’re so excited to be hitting the road with the BSD boys this fall,” says NOT A TOY. “Honestly, we couldn’t think of anyone better to go on tour with. We can’t wait to finally play our new album PRBLMS live in so many new places. See you there.”

The band has also dropped the video for new single “Grown Folk Problems.” Watch it here.

The video itself is a good time, but shoot itself was fraught with plenty of, well, problems! But it all worked out in the end and NOT A TOY persevered.

“The video for ‘Grown Folk Problems’ was a wild ride,” the band explains. “We knew we had to go big for the video so we flew to L.A. to shoot it. Later, while we were still editing the video, our van got broken into while we were on tour with DE’WAYNE and the hard drive with a bunch of the footage on it got stolen, so when we got back to Colorado we had to re-shoot the second verse for a second time. We were pretty heartbroken at first, but we made the most out of it and had some fun coming together and shooting it again with fresh eyes and a new idea.”

NOT A TOY is both alt-pop band and close-knit collective, all collaborating on the writing, production, multi-instrumentation, and visual elements. Best friends since high school, they cut their teeth in the punk and emo scene playing gigs across the map. Soon forming NOT A TOY in 2020 and quickly signing to Fearless Records. Releasing their full-length debut PRBLMS in July, the album emerged during trying times for the band. With the group stating, “We were all at these different but similar crossroads in our lives, with so much uncertainty ahead, we decided to embrace those PRBLMS and make them into something beautiful.”
