New World Symphony Presents Price + Beethoven

New World Symphony
Price + Beethoven
March 11 at 8 p.m.
Knight Concert Hall | Tickets start at $16*

In 1933, composer Florence Price made history as the first Black woman to have her work performed by a major U.S. orchestra. In recent years, Price’s groundbreaking music has been championed by the virtuoso pianist Michelle Cann, bringing ragtime and spiritual melodies into the classical cannon and shaping the repertoire performed by the world’s top orchestras.

In March, Michelle Cann will join New World Symphony to perform Price’s groundbreaking Piano Concerto at the Arsht Center. This one-night-only performance will mark the South Florida premiere of Price’s Piano Concerto and is a must-see event for anyone interested in Black history, trailblazing women and the future of orchestral music.

Reserve your tickets today to hear why Price is remembered as one of the great American composers of the 20th century.
