Nantucket’s Wauwinet and Serena & Lily have partnered to open The Anchorage House by Serena & Lily, on June 1, 2019. The redesigned three-bedroom cottage is located on the northeast end of the island between two private beaches – one on the Atlantic Ocean and one on the Bay. Evoking the feeling of a private beach house, the accommodation is across the street from the main Wauwinet inn, which also unveiled a renovation in April 2019. As part of the collaboration, The Anchorage House features a new blue and neutral color scheme accented by Serena & Lily’s signature coastal aesthetic. Rates for the cottage start at $1,895 per night.
Inspired by both brands’ affinity for the sun and sea, the Serena & Lily design team developed a new relaxed and breezy interior for the living and dining rooms at Anchorage House. The cottage now features a palette of navy and golden-sand hues as well as woven basket textures that embrace the home’s coastal charm. In the living room, blue and white-striped throw pillows and watercolor whale and ocean prints pay homage to the cottage’s nautical locale and maritime history. New stylish furniture installed throughout include Serena & Lily’s Costa Sofa, featuring hand-braided water hyacinth woven over a wood frame; natural accents like the Truro Side Table with a smooth clamshell veneer top; the large, round Downing Dining Table ideal for entertaining; and the brand’s signature white and blue Riviera Dining Chairs. Decorative accents such as handwoven rattan and brass lighting fixtures and nautical rope mirrors have also been incorporated. The outdoor deck was transformed into a calming outdoor oasis with landscaped gardens and lounge furniture with driftwood-inspired frames.
Guests checking into the cottage will receive keys to a 2019 BMW 760L SUV vehicle and have access to the amenities offered at The Wauwinet: Priority Bicycles, kayaks, tennis courts, and guided tours to Great Point Lighthouse and through ‘Sconset. The Wauwinet is home to an expansive lawn dotted with chaise lounges overlooking the Bay. Guests of the hotel can dine al fresco at TOPPER’s, the island’s only AAA Five Diamond award-winning restaurant, which has enjoyed the honor of Wine Spectator’s Grand Award for 23 consecutive years.
