NADA Art Fair Miami Beach 2010

The World’s Top Emerging Galleries Convene for 8th annual NADA Art Fair

Innovative Fair Returns to Miami Beach with New Initiatives and Expanded Programs
December 2, 2010- December 5, 2010

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is pleased to announce the 8th edition of the NADA Art Fair on December 2nd through December 5th at the Deauville Beach Resort (6701 Collins Ave) in its expansive Napoleon and Richelieu Ballrooms. The NADA Art Fair is recognized as the preeminent fair featuring the world’s most significant emerging art galleries from over 28 cities. The fair celebrates new and innovative contemporary art from rising talents around the globe.

This year, NADA is pleased to announce a new initiative – NADA Projects – developed to augment the fair’s gallery presentations with innovative and idiosyncratic projects. These economically sized booths will allow pioneering young galleries and non-profits to participate in the dynamic dialogue that takes place in Miami over this week in December.

In collaboration with ICI (Independent Curators International), NADA will also present, Let’s Talk, a series of curator-led tours that will place international curators in direct contact with the public. These tours will allow the curators to offer their unique perspectives as well as insider views into the artists and their works. Tour leaders include Kate Fowle (Director, Independent Curators International), Jens Hoffmann (Director, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts), Ruba Katrib (Associate Curator, MoCA North Miami), René Morales (Associate Curator, Miami Art Museum), João Ribas (Curator, MIT List Visual Arts Center), and Franklin Sirmans (Chief Curator of Contemporary Art, LACMA). More information can be found on the ICI website: www.ici-exhibitions.org

The 7 For All Mankind Best Booth Prize and the Grolsch SwingArt Award 2010 will be presented during the Opening Preview on Thursday, December 2nd. 7 For All Mankind returns to the NADA Art Fair, funding the Best Booth Prize for the second year in a row. The $7,000 cash prize will be awarded to the exhibitor with the most innovative booth presentation, selected by an esteemed jury consisting of Armand Limnander (Fashion News and Features Director, W Magazine), Shamim Momin (Director and Founder, LAND Los Angeles Nomadic Division), and Andrew Goldstein (Executive Editor, ARTInfo). The SwingArt Award, presented by NADA and Grolsch, commissions an artwork from a living artist to be placed on a limited edition collectible bottle of the international premium lager. This year’s SwingArt Award 2010 winner, Michael Bühler-Rose, will have his artwork featured on 1,615 bottles that will be gifted to Opening Preview Guests.

Canyon Ranch Living the Official VIP Accommodations Sponsor of the NADA Art Fair, has commissioned NADA to curate a dynamic outdoor sculpture garden for Canyon Ranch Miami Beach (6801 Collins Ave.) that will feature works by an international roster of emerging women artists, and includes: Nicole Soden, Allyson Vieira, Sarah E. Wood, Sarah Braman, Sara Greenberger Rafferty, Amelie Chabannes, Rachel Foullon, and Liz Magic Laser with Felicia Garcia-Rivera.

New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is a not for profit organization devoted to giving support and encouragement to those who work with new contemporary and emerging art; facilitating strong, and meaningful relationships between its members; and enhancing the public’s interaction with contemporary art. NADA believes in a spirit of friendly competition and the power of working collectively to gain access to resources and to provide services to artists and the public that could not be provided as individuals. The NADA Art Fair was founded in 2003. NADA members include galleries, gallery directors, non-profit art spaces, art advisors, curators, writers, museum and other art professionals from around the world.
